On Wednesday, May 22nd at 6:30 pm the Kingston Free Library will present: Summer Entertaining: An Evening with Chef Normand Leclair. Normand is a teacher, cookbook author and former chef/owner of the Red Rooster Tavern in North Kingstown. He will share recipes and ideas from over fifty years in the food industry. In this 4-week intergenerational program, senior citizen volunteers will meet at the library and pair with a child from the YMCA to read books, do crafts and fun activities! In the final week there will be a party for the volunteers and children at the YMCA! Volunteers must register & commit to at least 3 of the 4 following Tuesdays from 4:00-5:00 P.M.:

Kids ages 8-12 years are invited to join the Providence Comics Consortium for a special Comic Workshop! Walker Mettling and Julia Gualiteri, Providence-based artists/educators, will lead this two-hour workshop with a focus on drawing games, character creation and story-telling with images. Participating kids will have their work, along with submissions from international comic artists, compiled into an anthology which will be given to all participants and libraries!
All drawing abilities are encouraged to attend this workshop!

Kids of all ages can come celebrate Mo Willem's new book A Big Guy Took My Ball at the Robert Beverly Hale Library's Elephant & Piggie Party on Tuesday, May 21, from 4:00-5:00 p.m.!
We'll share some Elephant & Piggie books, play games, and make crafts! Everyone will get a goodie bag to take home.
