Summer Reading Ice Cream Kickoff!

Registration begins at the Kingston Free Library for the 2009 Summer Reading Program Be Creative@ South Kingstown Public Library! What better way to start the program than to have ice cream while you register and pick up your program Tote. Ice cream will be served between 1:00 and 2:00 pm on the Library lawn (in case of rain we will be in Potter Hall). Registration will continue throughout June and July if you are unable to attend this event.

*Ronald McDonald is a Summer reader! "Ronald's Reading Tour" is coming to the Kingston Free Library on Wednesday July 1 at 1:00 The 30-minute show performed by Ronald McDonald, live and in person, is filled with magic, music, adventure, audience participation, and reading fun. Designed for family audiences, the program is limited to 90 people. Call the library for more information at 783-8254.

Sidewalk Chalk Drawing. Children ages 5 - 11 are invited to come decorate the sidewalks with chalk drawings of their own designs. In the event of rain we will move inside to Potter Hall. Please call the Library to register. 783-8254.

*Mad Science of Southern Massachusetts and Rhode Island will perform at the Kingston Free Library on Wednesday July 15, 2009 at 11:00 am. Children and adults will be dazzled and entertained as they interact with a Mad Scientist to find clues to solve some mysteries of science! This interactive event challenges the audience to explore the scientific method as they observe, hypothesize, and experiment. Designed for family audiences with children ages to 4 to 11, the program lasts for 45 minutes and is free of charge. Space is limited so please arrive early. *Keith Munslow "Think Outside The Box!" This summer, Rhode Island favorite Keith Munslow returns to the libraries with "Think Outside The Box", a fun, funny and interactive performance featuring his usual triple-whammy combination of songs, stories, and lightning-fast cartoons. Keith's quick wit, musical chops and improv skills will delight children and adults alike! Join us for this one-of-a-kind show, celebrating the imagination, and all things creative.

*The Great Baldini presents his 2009 show, "Always Be Creative." Audiences of all ages will be magically motivated to tap into their creative genes. Throughout the show participants will use their magical powers, and chant the magic word "cre a tiv i ty" to make objects appear and disappear. This is an audience participation show which will surely entertain the inner child in all of us. Designed for family audiences with children ages to 4 to 11, the program lasts for 45 minutes and is free of charge. Space is limited so please arrive early.
