Adopt-A-Park

The South Kingstown Recreation Commission created the Adopt-A-Park Program in 1999. Currently, twenty organizations and groups have adopted local parks. The goals of the program include:
  1. Promote the involvement of residents in the maintenance and upkeep of the South Kingstown park system
  2. Encourage neighborhood development revitalization through respective park improvements
  3. Reduce vandalism within the park system by Adopt-A-Park participants monitoring park usage and contacting the Parks and Recreation Department concerning improper use

Eligible Participants


Individuals, neighborhood associations, civic groups, churches, schools, businesses, and community organizations are encouraged to adopt a park in their area. Please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 401-789-9301 for an Adopt-A-Park packet to adopt your favorite park.
