Snow Plowing Issues

During normal working hours (8:30am-4:30pm), contact the Public Services Department at 401-789-9331, ext. 2250 to report snow plowing issues. For urgent, after hours snow plowing issues, call the Highway Division office directly at 401-284-3299 or the Police Department at 401-783-3321.

Mailbox Damage

Reduced visibility during snow events makes it difficult for drivers to see mailbox posts. If your mailbox or post is hit by a plow, contact the Public Services Department at 401-789-9331, ext. 2250.

The Town will not repair or replace mailboxes and posts damaged by the force or placement of plowed snow.

Potholes

Town Roads: Potholes can be reported by calling the Public Services Department at 401-789-9331, ext. 2250. If there was damage to your vehicle, please refer to the Damaged Vehicles section to the right for the Motor Vehicle Damage Claims Policy.

State Roads: Potholes on state roads can be reported by calling the Rhode Island Department of Transportation at 401-222-2450 or visit the DOT website for additional information.

Street Light Outage

To report a street light outage call the Public Services Department at 401-789-9331, ext. 2250.

Missing Street / Traffic Signs

Report missing or damaged street and traffic signs to the Public Services Department at 401-789-9331, ext. 2250. Most signs are replaced within 24 hours from the time we receive the report.

Dead Animals Along Roadways

Report dead or injured animals within either a Town or State right-of-way to the South Kingstown Police Department at 401-783-3321.

Drainage Problems

Call the Public Services Department at 401-789-9331, ext. 2250 to report drainage problems. Department Staff will investigate the concern and contact you.
