A Water Quality Protection charge based on actual water consumption is mandated by Rhode Island General Law. Property owners 65 and over are exempt from this charge if they are the property owner of record and do not rent the property at any time during the year.

If you meet the above criteria, please complete and return the Elderly Exemption Application (PDF), and you will be exempt from this charge on future billings. Please send your application with a copy of your driver's license or birth certificate to the Town of South Kingstown Water Division you can also email your application to lennis@southkingstownri.com.

This form only needs to be filled out once. Call the Water Division at 401-789-9331, ext. 2257 to determine whether you have already qualified for this exemption.
