Fire Hydrants are flushed twice a year in Spring and Fall. Customers may temporarily experience some rusty water and lower than normal pressure.
This important procedure removes sediment in the mains and checks the operation of all hydrants.
Notice of fire hydrant flushing is typically placed in the Town's legal paper of record, the South County Independent. If you rent your property, please make your tenants aware of the schedule.
